Seeing Engine

Seeing Engine is an experiment inspired by early cinematic media and analog computing machines, including the cinematographe, player pianos, and difference engines.

The device featured a crank which turned a content belt. The belt was read by a camera which the user could position across it’s width and select particular content to project on a wall in front of the device. The content was curated from the book A Computer Perspective, about the origins and history of modern computing.
